Female R&B musicians are at the forefront of this year's list.

Our seventh year of the competition became the most successful edition of the Prospect Music Award we've ever had. We searched through over 1,000 artists and received more votes than ever before.

Two of last year's judges EJ Scanlan (Music Journalist and Prospect founder) and Will Kent (Head of YMCA Digital and Live Music Presenter) returned once again, alongside three new recruits:

  • Aimee Stones, a musician and mental health advocate who is also a member of the new Nottingham girl group, Marty.
  • Camille Christel, a singer-songwriter who came 11th in the 2019 Prospect Music Award, who's debut single, Copenhagen, accumulated over 80,000 streams.
  • Benjamin Ziec, a musician who fronts the Nottingham indie-folk band, Benjamin Ziec and the Rarebreeds, a producer under the name of Trekkah and is also the founder of Phlexx Records.
